The ‘digital writing process’ is a method of capturing natural input via pen on paper and the conversion of this process into raw, live data.

Digital paper

Digital writing is a very stable technology – which has been available in varying forms, for over 10 years.

The process is widely used in consumer products such as Livescribe and on an enterprise level in any environment where repetitive form filling is an operational necessity.

The digital writing process that Pendata Asia works with require three critical technology components:

  • an Anoto Pen with optic lens (to take between 50 and 100 images per second of digital snapshots of a microdot pattern),
  • software to generate actions from the captured strokes such as easily implemented pre-population or specific instructions for data export and
  • Dot Pattern – a non-repeating dot pattern printed by professional offset or laser print, onto a standard paper form or surface so the pen is able to determine which page is being written on, and where on the page the pen is.

In addition, a successful deployment and solution design requires one other critical requirement: knowledge!

Pendata Asia understands the specialist factors that contribute to a successful application or solution design and deployment. In addition, our Team work within a best practice environment using the latest technology and hosting solutions to provide our clients and partners with best in class solutions and support.
